Losing Myself for the Sake of Finding You

by D'Nasia Jones

I must decrease, so you can increase

I'm giving you room to dwell here

Here within, I'm cleaning my closet, throwing

Away old clothes, away old shoes, away old looks

I want to look new. The old has passed

The new has come. New mind, new heart,

New way of being.

No more sinning.

I declare war on the old self. I wage

War on myself, then I'll present to

You the victory.
